Designer Information - Fashy
Fashy, a German company founded in 1986, specialise in products based in and around water. They produce products as varied as hot water bottles, swimming hats and baby care products. Fashy products can now be found in virtually every German household and in homes in over 70 countries worldwide!
It all started in 1948 when Friedrich Kraus took advantage of the currency reform to create his entrepreneurial empire. He realised that plastics would revolutionise many areas of consumer goods so he set up a wholesale business dealing in plastic and rubber goods. Friedrich started his company in Stuttgart. The next major grown for Friedrichs company was in 1958 when he started plastic production with his own industrial manufacturing operation. From there the company was registered under the name Gummi-Kraus GmbH in 1962. In 1972 Gummi-Kraus GmbH continued to grow with expansion in sales, both nationally and internationally, and investments in the manufacture of thermal plastics and modern injection moulding technology. Gummi-Kraus GmbH became Fashy as we know it in 1986 with a name change and both national and international success. In 1991 Fashy expanded and set up a plastic injection moulding company called Doxa GmbH and then in 1998 they expanded even more and set up production in Vietnam under the name Fashy (Far East) Production Ltd. From 2000 to 2004 Fashy concentrated on yet more expansion by investing in their sales and distribution structure for specific business lines and expanding their export to cover over 60 countries. In the past 3 years Fashy have been extending their ranges and reorganising the structure of the segmented brands such as Fashy Baby, La Le Lu, Westbay and Gino Lapis. Today Fashy is a leading supplier of hot water bottles (and swimming hats!) and is a medium sized international company.
Fashys design experts have produced a wide range of up to date and good quality products based around water and warmth for well being. Their range includes fashion swimwear, swim footwear, swimming goggles, hot water bottles, swimming hats, filled heat pads, baby products and textiles.
